Here are the details of how to get to Oxford and what to do when you get here.

From London Heathrow Airport

In Heathrow airport go to the central bus station and bus stand A. From here take the X70 Oxford Citylink bus which goes direct to Oxford. The journey takes 60-90 minutes normally and buses leave every 30 minutes during the day. Get off the bus at Queen's Lane or Gloucester Green bus station in central Oxford, the last stop.

From Central London

From Victoria coach station buses leave every 20 minutes for Oxford and cost 3 pounds. From bus gate 10, the Oxford Citylink X90 bus leaves. It takes about 90 minutes. Get off the bus at Queen's Lane or Gloucester Green bus station in central Oxford, the last stop.

From London Stansted

Buses are run by 'Cambridge Coach Services' direct to Oxford from Stansted. Bus number 75 leaves from bay 17 at Stansted. The buses leave every 2 hours at 07:45, 09:45, 11:45 etc and they take 2 hours 15 minutes to get to Oxfrod Gloucester Green bus station. They cost 7 pounds return (with student ID) and 10 pounds return otherwise. Get off the bus at Gloucester Green coach station in central Oxford.

From London Gatwick

The Oxford Citylink X80 leaves every 2 hours for Oxford from stand 8 in the north terminal bus station. They take just over 2 hours to get to Oxford. Get off the bus at Queen's Lane or Gloucester Green bus station in central Oxford.

From London Waterloo, Eurostar Terminal

From Waterloo you can either get the train or bus to Oxford. Both of these require going across London on the underground. To go by train take the underground from Waterloo to Embankment and change for the circle line to Paddington. From here trains leave approximately every hour for Oxford and cost about 10 pounds. By bus take the undergound to Victoria (on the circle line). This is Victoria rail station and it is about half a mile from the Coach Station where buses leave for Oxford. Either follow the signs or take a shuttle bus. Once at Victoria coach station follow the instruction for 'From Central London'. The train is probably easier, but for the more adventurous the bus isn't too much of a problem!

From Queen's Lane, Oxford

This is the more senic route to the St. John's and if you remember to get off here you should, although it doesn't matter if you get to the bus station. From where the bus drops you continue walking up the High Street for about 100 metres, cross the road walk right up Catte Street, past the Radcliffe Camera and the Bodleian. At the traffic lights at the corner of Broad Street and Parks Road turn left and walk along broad street. At the end of Broad Street turn right onto St., Giles Street where St. John's is situated on the right, about 50m up the street.

From Gloucester Green bus station, Oxford

Leave the bus station by the exit that the buses use, turn left and walk along George Street to the corner of Cornmarket Street and Magdalen Street. Turn left up St. Giles Street where you will find St. John's College on the right about 50m up the street.

From Oxford Train Station

Take a taxi to St. John's College.

At the St. John's College

Pass through the main entrance and go into the porter's lodge on the right. Here the proters will direct you to your room and indicate where the conference office is.
